In Chinese Tradition, a fortune
teller is consulted to determine if the couple is a good fit based on
the date and time of their birth. The fortune teller also determines
which day and time is lucky for the engagement and wedding. |

The Grooms
family brings gifts for the engagement to the brides family, and per
tradition the bride stays hidden away until the gifts have been accepted
by the groom's family. |

The engagement ceremony is
followed by an engagement
banquet with the members of the bride and grooms parties, usually just
close family. |

Pictures
are a huge part of a Chinese Wedding. You get to take pictures
in traditional clothes, in evening wear, and of course in the Wedding
Clothes. You need to see it to believe it. At the reception
table at the banquet, there is usually a huge picture of the bride and
groom as well as the book of their wedding photos. These are taken
before the wedding. After the wedding US couples will often go to
China or Taiwan and have more photos taken. |

only close family is invited, many will also have a Western style ceremony
in a Church with Western Wedding Clothes that includes the bride
and groom exchanging rings. |

takes place at a HK Seafood Palace and each dish has a symbolic
meaning. A western wedding cake is also served.
