Chinese and Japanese confusion

I've been around twitter and I realized there has been a lot of confusion between Japanese clothing and Chinese clothing. So in my attempt to clear the issue (and the hope of proper term usage) here's a helpful guide.

KIMONO is a Japanese clothing. The full length robes worn that the hem falls to the ankles and is wrapped around the body always left side over right side and is secured by a sash called, obi, which is tied at the back.

CHEONGSAM/QI PAO is a Chinese clothing. It's a body hugging one piece dress often with mandarin collar.
