As I've mentioned on my previous post, Elite Dresses and ChildBook are experiencing difficulty on our shopping cart software. It's been frustrating since there was significant impact on our sales and traffic. It is really hurting us. Double the frustration when we are supposed to launch our new dresses plus our contest.

What's keeping me positive is that the people behind the shopping cart software promised that they are doing everything to fix it. It feels like we are a shopping mall that closed its doors on shoppers. Apparently, new visitors were shut off. How fun is that?

Anyway, please do stay for the new dresses to come out. I promise it's the best deal you get from across the Internet. More designs and colors to choose from!
Plus we are having a review and photo contest very very soon. Just let me have things in order with the store and we will begin and release formal announcement on the contest.

I've been receiving several emails asking for the dresses' size charts. I wonder why they can't see the Size Chart link on the product page. I should change the SIZE CHART link to VIEW SIZE CHART instead.

Also I decided to put a page (the link is on the main page) that has all information about the dresses' size chart and how to measure instructions.

I hope this will help the customers see them easily. I will announce it when it's done :) It's a bit of work but if it's a big help, I'll gladly do it.

How to Maintain Girls Dresses

Taking good care of first communion dresses and girls Easter dresses will not only make them last longer, but will also help save you some cash! Here are some good tips to help maintain these girly dresses:

Don't forget to follow the manufacturer's care instructions for the dress.

As much as possible, hand wash the dress to remove sweat, and body oils.

Remove any stains as soon as possible.
Always check the dress for any loose buttons/threads. Repair any damage (rips, holes) in the dress immediately.

Steam or press the dress before storing it.
Use plastic hangers to hang the dress (they are gentler than wire ones). Metal clips on hangers could rust and stain fabric so avoid using them as much as possible.

Girl Scouts Celebrate Chinese New Year too!

Three salutes for Girl Scouts who continually celebrate the cultural heritage that their troops have. Just last month they celebrated with the world during the Chinese New Year. How did I know about it? I have a couple of Girl Scout customers who bought their Chinese dresses from me and told me about their celebration. Sorry I posted late about it, I was digging through my email and I found their emails. I was told that they sang too during the Girl Scout Chinese New Year celebration but I can't seem to find the video from youtube.

Anyway, it's through these occasions that kids are reconnected to their heritage which is easily lost on the everyday modernization that they encounter. It's also a great chance to learn new things on different cultures and seeing how everyone is unique yet together, makes a great community.

I wonder if Girl Scouts also celebrate Tet (Vietnamese) New Year?
It would be great to read about it and see how they celebrate it.

Easy Easter Hairstyles

This season get creative with your daughter’s hair. I’m talking about quick pretty hairdos, not some overdone hairstyles. Instead of just keeping the hair plain and down, you can try these easy Easter hairstyles you’ll surely have fun creating on your daughter.

Ponytails are for girls of all ages. If your daughter happens to enjoy Easter egg hunts, a ponytail will help keep your daughter’s hair off her face. Low or high, a ponytail is perhaps one of the easiest hairstyles for your daughter. First comb or brush the hair to make it smooth. Next secure the hair to the back of her neck. Use an elastic to make a ponytail. You can use colorful ribbons or hair clips to finish the look. Secure the sides of her hair with bobby pins.

Pigtails are cute and very easy to make. To make them simply divide your daughter’s hair and form it into two separate tails. Use ribbons or elastics to make them. Remember not to make them too tight to avoid hair breakage.

Braids look great with medium to long hair. Your daughter’s hair should be long enough to braid. First use the wide-tooth comb to comb out all the hair. Then divide the hair into three sections. Hold the hair firmly. Cross the left hand section over the middle section, so that they switch places. Take the right hand section and then cross it over the middle section. Do this step till you see the braid forming nicely. Finally use hair tie/band to secure the braid.

I found out that not too many parents are aware of Arbor Day. That's why I'm blogging about it and attempt to give information about it.

Arbor Day is an international holiday that encourages individuals, families, groups, organizations, schools (and just everybody) to plant trees. And with the recent tragedies that the world suffered this past few months, it is the best time to plant trees and give back what Mother Nature deserves.

In every country, the date of National Arbor Day varies depending on the best time of the year to plant trees in that specific area. In the US, it's usually 4th Friday of April but some states chose to celebrate theirs on other dates because of the weather issue.

There are so many ways of celebrating Arbor Day as a family. You can go through arborday.org and read through their suggestions. But this website for kids I really love! And I'm sure your kids will love it too!

How to Make an Easter Necklace

My daughter loves Easter crafts and I love the fact that she likes to create them with me.

Here’s one pretty Easter project we did last year. I think this can go well with girls Easter dresses. Anyways, creating this easy-to-make Easter necklace is a nice way to spend time with your little angel. Follow these few easy steps and enjoy!

Crafts Materials Needed:

Beading wire
2 crimp tubes, silver
3 6mm yellow beads
1 fishhook clasp, silver
pliers

Using wire cutters cut about 18 inches of beading wire.
Using the last 5 inches of one end of the wire, string one crimp tube and one half of the fishhook clasp.
String on the yellow beads.
Attach the other crimp tube to the other end of the wire and then the second half of the fishhook clasp.
Don’t forget to cut off any excess wire.
