Parades, beautiful lanterns, elaborate floats, cute kids in girls chinese dresses, and fireworks all make Chinese New Year fun for everybody. And no Chinese New Year celebration is truly complete without a dragon dance or a lion dance, but a tiger dance??? Well, this year the Metal Tiger gets the much-deserved spotlight too....and boy can it dance!

Leave your husbands at home. Well, this one’s debatable. But in my experience, it’s better to go shopping alone. Men can’t stand long hours in the mall. Shopping is excruciating for them.

Make sure you’ve already had something to eat. This helps you focus on the task at hand.

Wear flat shoes or slippers. You don't wanna sore your feet after all the walking, running, strolling...

Don’t buy on impulse! You have to be in control while you’re in the mall.

Choose quality stores. You want to get durable gifts. Don’t compromise quality.

Do consider malls that are within easy driving distance. A two-hour drive is so not worth the sacrifice!

Consider gifts that will outlive the season. Go for gifts that are educational. Books are a great way to spur any child’s imagination.

Get practical gifts like girl holiday dresses and girls Chinese dresses. Your daughter can surely wear them for the year-end party and the coming Chinese New Year.

I love the Girls' Chinese Dresses in Red Cliff!

I was looking to buy a nice DVD so I asked a couple of friends for some suggestions.
One of them told me to get a copy of this historical Chinese epic film by John Woo. She also said that the movie bagged numerous awards and so I took her word for it. I grabbed a copy and watched it with my husband.

The movie is based on the battles that took place in the Red Cliff. It was breathtaking indeed! While my husband was amazed at the special effects and the multiple battle scenes, I was truly more interested in the costumes of the ladies. Wow! They looked so elegant and pretty in their Chinese traditional dresses. We certainly had a great time watching the film.

The unconditional love of a child truly brings closure to a wounded heart. I bet your child can take away the stress you feel when you get home after work. It's amazing how children make us crazy at times but still able to make us feel proud.

Dress up your characters on online games

I am fascinated by games that allow you to play dress up--well, not you literally but the character you chose to play. It has become a big hit for adults and children alike that several versions were released from the past years. The best so far that I've tried are MU online, RAN online, RF online, KHAN online, and Silk Road online.

With Khan and Silkroad online, most of the characters are wearing Chinese dresses and most of the dresses are the sexier version of girls Chinese dresses but what do you expect from online games? :) They would of course try to exaggerate things.

You should try one of the games I mentioned if you don't have something better to do--They're fun!
